Transfer Course Search by State

This transfer equivalency guide shows how courses transfer to UTC from other colleges and universities. Please note that equivalencies are subject to change as course content and offerings are revised at the University. Your course evaluations are based on the equivalencies in effect when your official transcript is evaluated. (For new students, this occurs after you are admitted to the University. For returning UTC students, your transcripts are evaluated upon receipt). Please review UTC's complete Transfer Credit Policy in the Undergraduate Catalog for further information.

NOTE: If an institution or course does not appear on the list, an official equivalency has not yet been determined. Transfer institutions and courses will be added to the list as official equivalencies are determined.

PLEASE PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE TRANSFER COURSE PREFIX, NUMBER, AND TITLE AND MAKE SURE IT MATCHES THE COURSE YOU HAVE PREVIOUSLY TAKEN OR PLAN TO TAKE. (For example, BIO is different from BIOL: ENG versus ENGL; MTH versus MATH)

  • Elective Credit

College level non-remedial courses without an exact UTC course equivalent may also transfer as electives. Transfer elective coursework may or may not have a specific subject associated with it. Coursework without a specific subject will be noted as "ELEC". The course numbers for elective courses are listed as: 1XXX, 2XXX, 3XXX, 4XXX. Elective Courses are normally acceptable as general elective course credit; however, advisors can guide students through a petition process to determine if the elective credit will satisfy specific requirements in your degree program. Please note that submitting a petition does not guarantee course approval.

    • 1XXX = Freshman Level elective, Lower Division

    • 2XXX = Sophomore Level elective, Lower Division

    • 3XXX = Junior Level elective, Upper Division

    • 4XXX = Senior Level elective, Upper Division

  • Effective Term Dates

Transfer courses with an effective term must have been taken during the term listed or later for the UTC equivalent course(s) credit to be awarded. The UTC equivalent course(s) may differ if the transfer course is taken prior to the designated effective term. Transfer courses without an effective term receive credit for what is indicated in the UTC equivalent course column.
